David Ombugadu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for governor of Nasarawa State, has petitioned the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Lafia, the state’s capital, to contest the proclamation of Audu Sule, the APC candidate, as the winner of the state’s March 18, 2023 elections.
Sule, the current governor, won the election after receiving 347,209 votes to overcome Ombugadu’s 283,016 votes, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The PDP governorship candidate spoke shortly after his legal team filed the petition in Lafia on Friday. He expressed confidence in his ability to win back his mandate in court.
