Eight executive members, including the former acting national publicity secretary Abayomi Arabambi, the state chairman Michael Ashade, and six other individuals have been recommended for expulsion by the Labour Party of Ogun State.
Tokunbo Peters, the party’s state publicity secretary, revealed the proposal for expulsion in a press release. He said that the affected executive members of the party were responsible for a number of suspected anti-party acts that led to the recommendation.
According to Peters, the recommendation was formally sent to the LP’s national secretariat last week.
He said that Arabambi and Ashade had just been placed on administrative leave by the leaders of their wards and local governments, and that the state executive council of the party had since recommended their expulsion from the party.
