Amidst the growing military tension in Eastern Europe between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities have signaled increasing concern and warned citizens against travel to Russia and advised anyone to leave immediately.
The statement which was released on Wednesday by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry asserted that Moscow’s military aggression could lead to a significant reduction in consular services. The report came after the Russian government began pulling her personnel from its embassy in Ukraine.
According to the report, the Russian flag was nowhere to be found flying over their embassy in Kyiv. The escalating tension had significantly affected Ukraine’s economy, and also by extension to Europe as the supply of energy has been on the low.
In a bid to douse the ravaging tension, the U.S and other European countries had put embargo and sanctioned Russia by advising cut in diplomatic ties with Russia in order to weaken their economy.
Putin had responded significantly to the sanction, and had put out 3 conditions for them to stop the penetration: the recognition of Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea, the Black Sea peninsula annexed from Ukraine in 2014, and also to renounce Ukraine’s bid to join NATO.
Russia in the past week had recognized the separatist movement in Ukraine.
