President Muhammad Buhari has called upon foreign partners to stay away from Nigeria’s internal affairs as the general election is around the corner.
President Buhari made such while receiving letters of credence from Ambassadors of Foreign Countries at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The President urged them to stay within the standard of their mission to Nigeria during the electioneering period, and also affirmed his support in seeking to end Insecurity in the West Africa region.
The statement released by Femi Adesina, S.A on Media and Publicity to the President read, “I urge you to be guided by diplomatic practice to endure that your activities remain within the limits of your profession as you monitor the build-up to the elections and the conduct of the general elections itself.”
The President also called on deepening the relationship and support between Nigeria and friendly countries in their fight against corruption, and insecurity, promoting good governance and also improving the economy.
The Ambassadors affirm their commitment and wish Nigeria a peaceful election, and also extend goodwill to the President on his last tenure in office.
