Following the announcement made by IPMAN on the extension of fuel scarcity in Nigeria until June, when the government is expected to remove fuel subsidies, many private depots have increased the price of fuel to N240 per liter across the country.
According to information, many independents refused to sell at government-regulated prices as they lament about the increment from the depot.
In a statement released by the National Operations Controller, IPMAN disclosed that products are gotten for between N230 and N240 per liter, which, with added transport costs, won’t make it feasible to sell at the government price.
He said, the inability to get their products government-approved over prices, can’t also make them sell at the same government price, as prices are going higher every day.
The controller bemoaned the situation they were in as a result of the price increase, claiming that until the government removed gasoline subsidies, all of these scarcities would return to normal.
