Italy Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has condemned Israel’s actions in Rafah that led to the death of 45 Palestinians with dozens of them injured during an aerial attack by the Israeli forces.
The attack has been described by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a tragic mistake on the side of the Israeli forces as they pledged to launch an investigation into the incident.
Replying to the incident and justification of Israel, the Italian Defense Minister said attacks on innocent civilians in Gaza can no longer be justified by the Israeli forces.
He condemned Israel for violating of rights of innocent civilians which includes men, women, and children who have no affiliation with Hamas.
“We are all convinced that after Hamas cowardly attack, Israel had to solve the problem.”
“However, from day one we all said that the attack had to take place differently, to stop the attack on Rafah and we haven’t been listened to. Now we look at the situation in despair,” he said.
The Minister lamented how Israel has squeezed innocent civilians without being concerned for human rights, saying Italy is working towards ensuring more humanitarian aid is delivered to the population in Gaza who are in dire need of it.
