Four people were confirmed dead in an ethnic attack between the Pian of Nakapiripirit and the Pokot of Amudat district. Few people sustained minor injuries in the attack.
The conflict occurred because of a dispute over grazing land located in Kawaxh Sub County.
Police confirmed the incident in the area and are ready to provide support to prevent any other escalation of the conflict between the two ethnic groups.
“The victims were shot using bows and arrows and later died from the injuries,” the Nakapiripirit District Liaison Officer said.
Last month, political leaders of the area agreed to mediate the ethnic hostilities between the groups. The members of the community urged the government to do justice to the victims of the accident.
