Two individuals, namely Olasunkanmi Olarewaju, also known as “Abolore,” and Adeniyi Juwon, who goes by the moniker “JBoy,” have been placed in custody at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre by a Magistrate court in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The reason for their detention stems from allegations that they were involved in the fatal beating of Abiodun Oyinloye, purportedly in retaliation for the victim’s supposed theft of N65000 (sixty-five thousand nairas), which was the revenue generated from their sales of dried Indian hemp leaves.
As a result, law enforcement officials brought the suspect before a court on two separate charges: criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, which violate sections 97 and 221 of the penal code. After reviewing the evidence presented, Magistrate M. O. Abayomi issued an order for the suspect to be remanded in custody and adjourned the case until May 11, 2023.
