Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday has called upon both Russia and the United States against plunging the world into a nuclear war as tensions between the two nuclear power countries reached their highest in decades.
Both Russia and the United States accounting for nearly 90% of nuclear deposits are currently at odds over the situation in Ukraine.
Both the United States and Russia are currently centering their weapons around themselves, a move retaliated by Russia after President Biden adopted the deployment of US weapons to Ukraine, while President Putin on the other hand ordered the delivery of the Russian nuclear Kazan to Cuba.
While the two superpowers are at the peak of another global confrontation, President Xi urges both countries against endangering humanity with their nuclear threat as tensions unfold.
President Xi said the leading countries must assume their role as the protector of human civilization, saying any destruction of the world order could have devastating consequences.
“We must assume our responsibilities for history and the people.
We must keep in the right direction and work together, to build a community with a shared future for mankind”, Xi concluded.
The Chinese leader said any global confrontation would significantly hinder the progress of human civilization leading to disunity in political order.
