Whilst tension continues to grow in the Asian continent over a possible attack of China over Taiwan, an island that Beijing considered as part of its territory over the possible visit of US Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the island.
In reaffirming their solidarity with the “One China Policy”, Beijing launched their ever biggest military drill in history in retaliation to the visit of the US top leader, a show of their firmness against foreign interference.
Despite launching their biggest military drill, the US set to continue with their provocation act against China as they plan to conduct new air and maritime transit on the island Beijing had warned them to stay off.
A report from the White House says, the US will exert its freedom of navigation, an action that will reflect the US response to China’s harsh military operation on the island.
While Washington had promised Taiwan a hundred percent back up in maintaining their sovereignty as a self-ruling island apart from China, Beijing looks not to accept the stand as preparation is already on the ground to take the island by force if the needs be.
A report from Aljazeera says that Kurt Campbell who is the coordinator for Asia-Pacific issues and adviser to President Biden said, despite the tensions, US forces will continue to fly, sail and operate where international law allows, consistent with our longstanding commitment to freedom of navigation, which includes conducting standard air and maritime transits through the Taiwan strait in the next few weeks.
According to information, the US condemned the military drill of China around the Taiwan Strait as a harsh move with no basis for justification, while China warned the US to stay off any issue on the internal affairs of the people of China.
While China continues to remain firm on its stance on Taiwan as part of China, the Taiwanese officials accused China of using its visit of Pelosi as an excuse to invade the island.
With the US set to announce a closer diplomatic tie with Taiwan during the present circumstances at hand, China might be forced to react against Taiwan militarily should the circumstances unfolds.
