Two police officers have been reported dead, with one casualty in a tragic helicopter accident that occurred in southern Turkey on Saturday night.
The ghastly accident was confirmed on the official X account of the Turkish Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya.
The Turkish Minister mentioned that the helicopter departed from Hatay airport and was on its way to Gaziantep airport before communication with those on board was lost at 10:29 p.m. (1949 GMT).
The helicopter crashed close to Kartal village in the Nurdagi district of Gaziantep, Minister Yerlikaya confirmed but has yet to provide further information about the cause of the accident.
The Turkish Health Minister, Fahrettin Koca indicated that the lone survivor of the incident, who tends to be the technician, is currently receiving medical care at the hospital.
