Confusion at Iraq Basra International Stadium on Thursday resulted in the death of one person, with over 60 people injured.
The incident occurred as fans trooped in thousands to watch the final match at the stadium.
Due to restrictions on preventing access to non-ticket holders, the front of the stadiums was filled with a large number of people after security officials prevented them from entering.
The result led to commotion among the teeming crowds who are bent on getting access into the stadium, an action which led to the commotion at the front of the stadium.
Due to much pressure, the Iraqi authorities later opened access for entrance to supporters, with the nearby Al Minaa stadium also opened for fans to watch the game on the screen.
The incident was described as a tragic end for the football tournament, as one person was reported dead, while dozens were injured.
