The federal executive council approved contracts on Wednesday to improve electricity supply in various areas of the country.
According to the minister of power, Abubakar Aliyu, these funds will cover the procurement and installation of 33 kv substation equipment at Daura Emirate, katsina state, which has been awarded to power deal construction limited in the amount of N4 billion.
The council approved the award of a contract for the engineering procurement, construction, and financing of the 330 kv and 132 kv line transmission lines, as well as the 33 kv, 11 kv, and 400 pe distribution line project under phase 1 of the presidential power initiatives in favor of two contractors for $581,629,355.93, inclusive of 7.5 percent of the current exchange rate, with a term of completion 36 months as indicated.
He said the council also approved the award of a contract for the construction of a 750kilowattst solar PV power plant at the headquarters of the where TCN is also situated in favor of Proserv Energy Services Limited in the sum of N1.6bn inclusive of 7.5% VAT with a completion period of six months.
