Senator kashim shettima, the vice president-elect, has backed senators Godswill Akpabio and Jibrin Barau for the positions of senate president and deputy president for the 10th Senate.
Shettima addressed the over 70 senators-elect, who are members of the stability group, in Abuja yesterday, who are hoping for Akpabio and Barau to emerge, describing it as the best decision taken by all progressives congress, APC, and the president-elect, bola ahmed tinubu, in the name of a stable polity based on experience.
Shettima, who thanked governors Nyesom Wike and David Umahi of the Rivers and Ebonyi states for their contributions and support for the group, said: “The governor-general of the south-south is a man of honor and integrity.” As far as wike is concerned, what you see is what you get.
The vice president-elect promised to get in touch with APC senators-elect who were yet to come on board with the choices of the party.
