Prior to Saturday’s governorship election, the Igbo community in Kaduna State formally endorsed Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s nominee for state governor.
The governorship candidate’s track record, competency, honesty, and willingness to run an inclusive administration if elected, according to the leadership of the numerous Igbo communities in the state, were factors in the decision.
Addressing Igbo leaders from all 23 Local Government Areas in the state, Chief Francis Uchenna, the President-General of the Igbo community in that state, said that the Igbo community required a business-friendly climate, which Hunkuyi could provide if elected governor.
