Twelve candidates have been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve on the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), and the Senate has been asked to ratify their appointment.
This is stated in a letter dated May 3, 2023 that is written to Senate President Ahmed Lawan.
According to Buhari’s letter to the Senate, which was made available by his Senior Special Adviser, Garba Shehu, “I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the appointment of twelve (12) nominees as tabulated below, in the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission. This is in accordance with the provision of Part 1, section 2(5)(b) of the North East Development Commission Establishment Act, 2017.
