The co-founder of twitter, Biz Stone has stated that Elon Musk “doesn’t feel like” the ideal person to be the owner of Twitter and that changes made to the company’s content policies and morale under its new owner have been undone.
Biz Stone claimed in an interview that the Tesla CEO had reversed some of the good adjustments he had helped supervise in previous years.
Running social media businesses, according to Stone, is “not really a win-win situation… it’s always tough,” as “50% of the people are going to be happy, 50% of the people are going to be dissatisfied with you.”
If not, Stone advised, “you should simply go buy a magazine or a newspaper or something where it’s OK to have a specific leaning.” “You have to be OK with stuff that you just don’t like or don’t agree with being on there,” continued Stone.
When asked if Musk should own Twitter, Stone responded, “It doesn’t seem like it at the moment, but I could be wrong.
Musk has drawn criticism for temporarily banning journalists from the network and restoring previously banned accounts, including those of the self-described misogynist Andrew Tate and former US president Donald Trump.
Stone, who along with Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, and Evan Williams co-founded Twitter in 2006, returned to the firm in 2017 at Dorsey’s request to “manage the company culture, that energy, that feeling.” Stone claimed that under Musk, advancements made during his four-year tenure, particularly in morale and content oversight, have been squandered.
