Plateau state university (plasu) says its security forces fought off a bandits’ attack on the campus on Tuesday night.
According to the school board, some gunmen assaulted the female hostel of the Bokkos school between Tuesday night and Wednesday, but there was no abduction.
The institution’s public relations officer, Mr. John Agams, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
According to Adams, the criminals attempted to kidnap students at the university but were pushed aside by the university’s local security forces.
”The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benard Matur, is currently at the school premises and appealing to students to be peaceful,” he said.
However, the police command in the state has yet to comment.
