President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent comment about moving to the Niger Republic after the May 29 handing over has been criticized by the Middle Belt Forum (MBF) as evidence that he is not dedicated to Nigeria.
The MBF claim followed Buhari’s statement that he “can’t wait to go home to Daura” and that “if they make any noise to disturb me in Daura, I will leave for the Niger Republic.”
The remark, which was made by FCT citizens, led by the Minister Mohammed Bello, at a Sallah homage to him, has sparked a flurry of responses from Nigerians.
Many have interpreted the President’s remark as proof of his lack of concern for the nation’s current state of instability, economic deterioration, and pervasive corruption.
