Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, a founding member of the Arewa Consultative Forum, has warned President-elect Bola Tinubu not to succumb to pressure to form a government of national unity.
A national unity government is a broad coalition made up of all parties (or all major parties) that is usually formed during a time of war or national emergency.
On Wednesday, the elder statesman issued the warning during an interview at his residence in Abuja.
Tinubu received 8,794,726 votes, defeating his closest competitors, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, by 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively thereby making him the outright winner of the just concluded Nigeria’s general election
