While speaking at her office, Ms. Betty Kamya said the war against corruption can’t be won through boardroom discussion by government officials as she thanked members of the public for exposing fraud at Entebbe international airport in Uganda.
Kamya said her office had taken note of alleged corruption activities at the airport and hence planned an investigation as she called on the public to continue exposing all elements of corruption, especially in ministries, departments, and agencies.
She called those who exposed corruption at the airport heroes since they were not politicians, religious leaders, or government officials.
She also said this should not stop at the airport but should be extended to all other actors and report whoever asks for bribes from them by getting evidence to help deal with them accordingly.
Ms. Kamya said they have so far investigated at least 21 cases of corruption in the authority in the last five years.
