Nigeria political parties, The All Progressive Congress(APC) and People’s Democratic Party(PDP) denounced Obasanjo’s letter of endorsement to Peter Obi.
On the 1st of January, Former President Obasanjo wrote a letter titled “MY APPEAL TO ALL NIGERIANS” in the letter he announced the endorsement of Peter Obi as a presidential candidate. He mentioned that Peter Obi has an advantage over Atiku and Tinubu. The letter was released by his media special assistant, Mr. Kehinde Akinyemi.
The APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has dismissed the endorsement of the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing it as “worthless”. The APC declared Obasanjo’s endorsement worthless because the former president doesn’t have any political capability to make someone win an election in the country. His political goodwill is poor and can’t help anyone to win the election.
Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesperson of the PDP campaign organization, on Monday also denounced Obasanjo’s letter of endorsement.
He said Mr. Obasanjo’s opinion does not reflect the position of the Nigerians because the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is the most acceptable candidate among all the presidential candidates in the country.
