Conflicts in Russia And Ukraine have been thrown the entire globe into subjectivity as to the dimension that the conflict is taking, while the crisis continues to show the whole world the dichotomy between the West and the East. There are many lessons to be learned from the crisis and the dimension of international politics.
Whereas most Western countries continue to impose sanctions on Russian assets and oligarchs, Russian allegiances continue to grow. Based on their owned allegiances, which in reality show the partitioning of the world into two blocs, a concise analysis of what is known about the Russia-Ukraine crisis is conducted.
Between The Two Blocs: East And West
While the world has continued to maintain relative peace in the past two decades since the Cold war period, the global politics had one being thrown again into blocs, with USA NATO leading the West, while Russia and on the other hands with relative support from China, Belarus, India, and likes.
The politics of the cold war era was majorly refuted by developing and third world countries with their policy of non-alignment, by staying neutral in the conflict of the two superpowers, while the crisis between Russia and Ukraine has been attributed as another phase of the cold war conflict but under the guise of Ukrainian conflicts, what looks different between the cold war and the Ukrainian crisis was the absence of the non-alignment movement which surfaced among the developing and third world countries back then.
Despite the USA calling for the sanctions of Russia globally, it’s crystal clear that only countries under the US-led NATO had been able to enforce the decision, and by frozen assets owned by Russia government and their oligarch, continent like Africa, Asia, South, and North America had refrained from sanctioning Russia with only a few countries going by the wish of USA.
China at the forefront had continued to maintain its covert international politics, with continuing call for the de-escalation of the crisis by putting an end to the sanctions as it only promotes hatred, and is not justifiable under international law, but the US-led NATO had turned deaf hear to the call.
Adding to the conflicts was the media houses and their distortion on the methods of reporting, while the media world has been rocking for support for the Western world, it became apparent on the stance of the media as pro-west, while Russia remains at disadvantage in a report about them.
It has resurfaced again on the revival of the conflicts of ideology between Western liberalism and Eastern communism, as the triumphant ideology will decide the politics of the world for years to come.
