The Yemeni armed forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, clarified during the million-man march held in Al-Sabeen Square in support of Palestine that they targeted the Israeli ship (MSC ALEXANDRA) in the Arabian Sea with several ballistic missiles.
He added that the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted the (YANNIS) ship, owned by a Greek company, as it passed over the Red Sea during the fourth phase of escalation.
The Armed Forces justified targeting the Greek ships, citing the arrival of three of the company’s ships at ports in occupied Palestine on May 4-5.
In a first-time statement, the armed forces revealed the targeting of the Israeli ship (ESSEX) with multiple missiles in the Mediterranean Sea. They clarified that the ship was targeted for violating Yemen’s prohibition on entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.
Recall that, the conflict between Israel and Yemeni forces has escalated in recent times, marked by retaliatory attacks and military actions between the two forces.
Yemeni forces, including Houthi rebels, have targeted Israeli ships in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea with ballistic missiles, citing violations of Yemen’s territorial sovereignty and bans on entry into ports controlled by occupied Palestine.
