Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, has been ordered by Honourable Shina Peller, a member of the House of Representatives, to increase the budgetary allocation for the Ministry of Information and Culture in the 2024 Appropriations Act to ensure the success of the country’s creative industry when he takes office on May 29, 2023.
The call was made by Honourable Peller, who represents the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal district. He made it while posting a video of himself proposing a resolution on the House floor about the urgent need to support Nigeria’s creative industry on his social media accounts.
The creative sector has developed into a global generator of employment, economic growth, innovation, and social cohesion, according to the honorable Peller. The second-largest employer of labor after agriculture, the creative sector in Nigeria makes a substantial contribution to the GDP and provides lawful work for people.
