According to Operation Forest Sanity personnel, its agents ambushed and defeated two bandits in Kaduna State on Tuesday.
In a statement released in the state, Lt. Col. Musa Yahaya, the acting deputy director of army public relations for 1 Division Nigerian Army, acknowledged the occurrence.
Yahaya claimed that after receiving a tip from an intelligence source, soldiers of Operation Forest Sanity, assigned to the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division, attacked two bandit leaders and successfully neutralized them while snatching weapons, ammo, and other equipment.
According to a portion of the statement, a bandit commander named Isiya Danwasa planned to send his errand boy Yunusa to buy some weapons and ammo in Kaduna town.
“Subsequently, the errand boy was trailed and picked up by plain cloth soldiers and later used to lure two of the bandits’ leaders to a selected ammunition collection point.
“Upon their arrival, troops who had laid ambush engaged the criminals with superior firepower and neutralised them.”
