The supplemental election held on Saturday in two Federal Constituencies in Oyo State, according to Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Dr. Adeniran Tella, went off without a hitch.
After observing the procedure in the eight voting places dispersed across the two concerned Federal Constituencies in Oluyole and Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Constituencies, Tella made this declaration to reporters.
He claims that there has been no violence of any kind during the extra election.
He claimed that all of the polling places’ BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) equipment operated flawlessly.
Tella praised the voters for exercising their right to vote in the affected polling places.
Voters in the impacted polling places were reportedly spotted in lines as INEC officials attended to them for voter registration and accreditation.
All of the polling places included party representatives from the two main competing political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
There were security personnel there, including members of the Army, Police, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
