Russian President, Vladimir Putin has promised a harsh response to any attacks from Ukraine following his country’s retaliatory attacks on some major cities in Ukraine.
President Putin at the start of a meeting of his Security Council said “it was not possible to leave Ukraine attacks unanswered. Should Ukraine attacks continue, the response from Russia will be severe and correspond to the level of threat.”
President Putin has declared the attack on the Crimean Bridge as an “act of war” which must not be overlooked, an event which spur their attacks on major cities in Ukraine including its capital on Monday.
Responding to the attack, Putin said Russia carried out a massive attack with high-precision, long-range weapons on some major energy, military command, and communications facilities in Ukraine.
President Putin has also accused Ukraine of launching three attacks on the Kursk nuclear power plant in Russia, and also attempting to hit the TurkStream gas pipeline running from Russia to Turkey under the Black Sea.
President Putin has said “let there be no doubt about our reactions, as it will be severe,” should Ukraine continue attacking.
The attacks on Ukraine’s city have been the major attack since the beginning of the war in February, and Russia has said their attacks are aimed particularly at energy infrastructure.
