The remaining two girls of the federal government college, Birnin Yauri (FGC Yauri), in Kebbi state, who were kidnapped by bandits two years ago, have been released.
Malam salim kaoje, the chairman of the abducted girl’s forum, said that the bandits released safiya idris and Farida Ka’oje to them on Thursday. According to daily trust, 11 of the school girls were in captivity for two years.
Following the bandits’ demand for an N100 million ransom, the girls were released in batches to their parents this year.
They were still in the bush trying to make their way out to Birnin kebbi, the state capital, where they would be handed over to the state government, according to kaoje.
On June 17, 2021, bandits kidnapped 96 students and eight teachers from the college. Many of the students were released to the state government in batches.
