On Friday, the 18 registered political parties’ alliance, the Inter-Party Advisory Council, expressed worry over unidentified individuals’ plans to establish an interim administration.
It claimed that doing so would undermine the democracy of the country and amounted to “treason and a civilian revolution.”
The organization urged the Department of State Services to identify, detain, and legally punish the individuals who planned the temporary government in order to serve as a warning to others.
The DSS had issued a warning that some resentful individuals were preparing to destabilize the nation by installing an interim administration in the wake of the 2023 general election.
Yabaji Sani, the National Chairman of IPAC, however, told journalists in Abuja that, if true, the claim was treasonous and a civilian coup.
