Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been proclaimed the victor of the governorship supplemental election in Adamawa by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sen. Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 398,788 votes, came in second to Fintiri, who received 430,788 votes.
The supplemental election was held in 69 Polling Units throughout 20 local government areas of the state, according to Prof. Mohammed Mele, the Returning Officer, who announced the results on Tuesday in Yola.
“Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes in the election is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” he said.
