Two former aides to former UK prime minister Liz Truss have criticized her for deciding to submit a list of resignation honors.
The Sun and I both reported that Ms. Truss, who held office for just 49 days, had proposed four candidates.
There are reportedly names on the list, including think tank leader Mark Littlewood, former Vote Leave member Matthew Elliott, and Tory party donor John Moynihan.
It would not be “proper,” according to a Ms. Truss representative, to comment.
The Liberal Democrats and Labour have both urged Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to obstruct the plan.
After resigning, each departing prime minister may suggest individuals for honors, though not all have chosen to do so.
Although Ms. Truss’s list is described as “limited” by allies, former aides are among those who are upset that she is proposing any candidates at all.
