In the March 11 gubernatorial and state assembly elections, Gabriel Suswam, the lawmaker for Benue’s North-East Senatorial District, has urged the people of Benue to turn out in large numbers to support PDP candidate for governor, Mr. Titus Uba.
In a statement released on Monday in Makurdi and signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Bede Bartholomew, the former governor of the state argued that Mr. Uba, the PDP’s nominee for governor, is the qualified and reputable candidate who can lead Benue to greater heights.
He urged his “supporters and all PDP members in the state to go out massively and campaign vigorously for Uba as well as other candidates of the party to emerge victorious at the polls.”
He said “Uba has the capacity to take Benue State to another level of development and deserves to be given the mandate of the people.”
According to the statement, Senator Suswam previously met with Governor Samuel Ortom and other PDP leaders to discuss how to best support Mr. Uba and other party candidates in the elections.
The legislator eho also disputed the results of his most recent Senate race, which he lost to Mr. Emmanuel Udende of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and said that he will file a legal petition to regain his seat.
