Ghana’s Former President John Dramani Mahama has advised the citizenry to support the anti-corruption organizations to carry out their obligations and responsibilities fairly and courageously without interference.
Former President John Dramani Mahama announced this in his Facebook post yesterday, this comes as a reaction to a recent pronouncement by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that Akonta Mining Company was not involved in any illegal mining activities anywhere in the country.
Nonetheless, former President Mahama in his Facebook post reaction described as unfortunate how and when President Akufo-Addo made that declaration which he claimed was to vindicate Akonta Mining, which had been accused of illegal mining in the country’s forest reserves.
Former President Mahama also described President Akufo-Addo’s tendency as awful to pardon his appointees and other close associates of any wrongdoing which will put pressure on state anti-corruption institutions in investigating such individuals and entities involved.
