Shehu Shema, a former governor of Katsina State, issued the Peoples Democratic Party a 48-hour deadline on Friday to lift its expulsion of him.
Shema also handed the party a deadline within which to rescind the party’s decision to dissolve its state executive committee.
In a letter dated March 24, 2023 to PDP National Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the former governor informed the party that if his two appeals were not heard within that time frame, he had left the party and was no longer a member.
Shema told the party chairman in the petition that while his suspension from the party and the dissolution of the Katsina State executive committee of the party were against the provision of the constitution of the party, he had been a loyal party member for 24 years, enduring all challenges.
