Acting Governor Yevgeny Balitsky has reported that Russian forces effectively repelled an attack launched by two Ukrainian assault brigades in the Zaporozhye region. The attempted assault took place near the settlement of Staromayorskoye in the Vremevka area.
In a statement on Telegram, Balitsky stated, “Our troops successfully defended our positions against the enemy’s two shock brigades. The enemy incurred significant losses during the engagement.” He further highlighted the strength of the Russian defenses, emphasizing that the troops are well-trained and possess high morale.
The president of Russia’s We Stand With movement, Vladimir Rogov, disclosed that Ukraine has suffered a considerable toll in its efforts to capture the settlement of Staromayorskoe. According to him, over 3,000 Ukrainian troops have been lost since early June in this attempt.
The Russian Defense Ministry previously reported the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ inability to carry out a successful counterattack since June 4. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu remarked on July 11 that Ukraine has lost more than 26,000 troops during the ongoing counter-offensive.
Russian President Vladimir Putin asserted that the Ukrainian army has not achieved any significant success on any front. These developments underscore the ongoing tensions and military actions in the region, and the situation remains closely monitored by the international community.
