President Zelenskyy has continued his call for global support against Russia, in the latest development, the Ukraine President has turned to Asia countries for continued support for Ukraine, urging them to change their treatment of Kyiv.
Majority of the Asian continent has continued to be President Putin’s backbone and next of hope after facing crippling sanctions from the Western countries, with majority of Asia nations refusing to sanction Russia, President Zelenskyy has turned his attention to Asia in order to gather more popular support against Russia.
In his word, he asserted that, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been traumatic not only to his country but the global community in general, as the crisis has weakened Ukraine’s ability to export her grain to the rest of the world.
“We managed to change, with our unity and strength, the treatment of Ukraine by many European countries. I would very much like countries in Asia to change their treatment of Ukraine, too,” President Zelenskyy told reporters.
In his speech, President Zelenskyy reiterated that the inability of the Asian countries to turned their back against Russia, would proved fatal to world market. He furthered noting that, the Russian invasion ha prevented Ukraine from exporting some 90 million tonnes of grain, insisting that, the inability of Ukraine to participate actively in the grain market will result in rising prices and shortage in some places.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine non active participation in grain export means starvation, noting that Russia invasion of Ukraine is not just a war in Europe, but a war on other continents because of these steps of disrespect towards all life and international law.
