Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at the Singapore security forum on Saturday as he anticipates gathering global support against Russia over his military operation in Ukraine.
Zelensky is expected to speak at the session titled “Re-Imagining Solutions for Global Peace and Regional Stability,” alongside Singapore Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen and Malaysia Defence Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
With President Zelensky’s visit to Singapore, he anticipated a meeting with the Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun as the country remains in support of Russia.
Zelensky anticipated gathering popular support for the Switzerland Peace Summit as he urged to induce China’s support, but Beijing condemned the Summit without the presence of Russia.
China on its side has reiterated for both parties to return to the table and find a lasting solution to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, saying they won’t be a part of a global escalation of the crisis in Ukraine.
