The national organizing body of the Ibo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze has called upon the South-East Governors to declare a public holiday across the region to allow more collection of PVCs.
The call was made as a result of low collection in the region as the election approaches, urging the governors to do everything in their capacity to allow more participation of the region in the forthcoming election.
The Secretary-General of the Ohanaeze, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro said, they should put in place strict measures that will compel the people the collection of their PVCs.
In a statement released, the socio-cultural Igbo organization said, “The Southeast Governors should arrange mobilization strategies and awareness campaigns through party leaders at the ward levels and elected or appointed councilors before the expiration date of 29th January 2023.”
The group also calls for the Inclusive participation of market traders to enforce the collection of PVCs as a ticket for gaining access to the market.
The group appealed to all eligible voters of Igbo descent to pick up their uncollected PVCs at this critical time in the country so that the region not be left out in deciding the direction in which the country should move.
