Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has compared the results of Nigerian leaders post-independence with what is now available, and has come to the conclusion that Nigerians from those days are much better.
Obasanjo said that even though politics was raging today as the country is, they were determined to ensure that they selected the right leaders who made the right choices for the country.
Obasanjo, the occasion’s keynote speaker, recalled the views of world leaders about Nigeria immediately after independence but regretted that the country isn’t living up to the expectations that leaders should have.
Prince Julius Adelusi-adeluyi, the chairman of the occasion and former minister of health and social services, said that people tend to look up to leaders, so leaders must have the ability, character, and leadership qualities.
