The Senate indicted the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited on Wednesday due to poor record keeping for delivering crude oil to the Warri and Kaduna refineries and petrochemical companies without providing the necessary information or a breakdown of what was delivered to each company, totaling about $376,655,589. (N102.6 billion).
The indictment was a follow-up to the 2016 Auditor General report that Senator Mathew Uhroghide produced and presented and that the Senate Chamber supported at the plenary session.
The National Population Commission, National Agency for the Control of Aids, FCT Area Council Service Commission, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and other organizations are among the 35 others that were indicted.
