The Nasarawa state government has declared war on the state’s unclean environment in an effort to maintain environmental cleanliness, minimize pollution, and stop the spread of diseases.
It has consequently built rubbish dumps in key places across the state to guarantee effective waste collection and disposal.
This is despite the fact that during the state’s exercise this month, more than 18 environmental defaulters were apprehended.
Dr. Yakubu Kwanta, the state’s commissioner for environment and natural resources, made this statement to reporters shortly after the exercise in Lafia was under observation. He said that going forward, communities, local governments, and individuals who fail to keep their surroundings clean will be subject to harsher punishments in accordance with the state’s existing environmental laws.
