The Ogun State Police have issued a warning ahead of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s second term inauguration ceremony on Monday, May 29, 2023.
The police, according to Abimbola Oyeyemi’s statement, have placed necessary security measures in place to ensure a smooth swearing-in ceremony.
Oyeyemi stated that the Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has placed all tactical teams, Area Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers on red alert in order to prevent any act of violence from disrupting the ceremony in any part of the state.
According to him, a 24-hour monitoring patrol has been ordered around the state to halt the actions of any hoodlum contemplating a violent act.
“The Command hereby appeals to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used by anyone to cause mayhem anywhere in the state, as anyone who attempts to do so will have to contend with the police and other security agencies,” he said.
The police warned they would not allow anyone, no matter how powerful, to throw the state into disarray.
