Manchester United has announced the extension of their partnership with Adidas for an extra 10 years, along with a minimum cash guarantee of £900 million. This new deal will ensure the collaboration between the soccer club and the official kit supplier continues until June 2035.
The timing of this agreement is significant as the Premier League season is set to commence next month. Manchester United\’s return to the prestigious Champions League tournament this year adds to the club\’s appeal, which led to an upward revision of their annual forecast last month.
As per the terms of the existing contract, a portion of the annual payments from Adidas is tied to the club\’s participation in the Champions League. If Manchester United fails to qualify for the tournament for two consecutive seasons, their annual payments will be reduced by 30% of the applicable amount, as stated in the agreement.
In addition to this partnership extension, Manchester United is currently in discussions regarding a potential sale. The club\’s American owners, the Glazer family, initiated a formal sale process last year.
