Iran’s National Indoor Hockey team showcased their prowess in the showdown of the Asian championships, securing victory over Malaysia and claiming the title for an impressive ninth time.
Iran’s skillful plays and strategic tricks, dominated the match, demonstrating their supremacy in the sport and solidifying their position as champions in the region.
Iranian team won over Singapore (8-0), Thailand (10-4), Tajikistan (37-0), and Kazakhstan (5-3), with a draw against Malaysia (3-3) in their previous matches. Amirmahdi Mirzakhani of Iran was hailed as the top goalscorer of the competition, netting 24 goals.
Host Kazakhstan secured third place by defeating Thailand 7-2. The tournament, held from May 21 to 25 in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, saw Iran and Malaysia qualify for the 2025 Indoor Hockey World Cup in Porec, Croatia, scheduled for February 3 to 9 next year.
Iran maintains its status as the most successful team in the tournament, winning nine out of ten editions.
