Labor party candidate in the upcoming 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, Peter Obi announced that cultivating big arable lands in Niger state will lead to higher productivity and fetch out many people from poverty.
Mr. Obi stated this on Sunday in the people’s town hall series that aired on Channels Television on Sunday, 8th January.
The Presidential candidate who’s emphatic about maximizing Nigeria’s agricultural potential declared that the country has the potential to produce agricultural products in abundance and export the surplus.
Mr. Obi further stated that Inflation in Nigeria is a result of food insecurity.
NBS report for the third quarter of the year shows that the agricultural sector contributed 29.67% of Nigeria’s GDP which is an increase from 23.24% recorded in the previous quarter.
