The Labour Party’s nominee for governor of Kaduna State in the election on Saturday, Mr. Jonathan Asake, has declared that he will not resign or join forces with any political group.
Asake urged all Labour Party followers to continue supporting the party and vote it into power in the state, despite whatever rumors that may be circulating, during a news conference in Kaduna.
In order to defend the party’s mandate, he reaffirmed his party’s resolve to winning the governor’s race. He insisted that every vote be counted, protected, and ensured that the right result was reported to INEC on Saturday.
He said, “I have made my campaigns in all the nooks and crannies of the 23 local government areas of Kaduna state. I have made my consultations and I am ready for Saturday’s election and convinced to be elected to change the narratives in the state for a better society.”
The social media rumors that the party was forming an alliance, he claimed, made holding the press conference necessary.
He clarified that the allegations that he has no allegiance with or is resigning for any candidate for governor in the upcoming election are pure lies created to harm the Labour Party and his candidacy.
