Hamas shot rockets toward the Tel Aviv area, the first attack of its kind in almost four months. The rockets originated from Rafah in southern Gaza. Israeli defenses intercepted some of the rockets, and there are no reported injuries at the moment.
The Israeli military is currently engaging in operations in Rafah in response to the rocket attacks by Hamas.
A home in Herzliya was damaged by the rocket bombardment and footage shows a large crater near Kfar Saba, likely caused by one of the rockets.
Local ambulance services are assisting numerous individuals experiencing acute anxiety due to the attacks. Hamas has claimed responsibility, describing the barrage as a “big missile” attack on Tel Aviv.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), has ordered Israel to halt its offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah and withdraw from the enclave.
The ruling came after a case brought by South Africa, which has accused Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian population in Gaza.
In Friday’s decision, the 15-judge panel at the ICJ cited the “immense risk” to Palestinian civilians in ordering Israel to cease its military operations.
The decision marks the third time this year the ICJ has issued preliminary orders seeking to curb the escalating death toll and alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.
