According to reports, gunmen abducted some members of the national youth service corps, NYSC, in the Emohua local government area of rivers state.
The victims were reportedly returning from a recent orientation camping trip in Ondo state, according to reports. They were kidnapped around 9 p.m. on their way to Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
A witness witnessed the robbery and abduction of her sister-in-law and colleagues at a local radio station. The corps members were allegedly abducted on the Romaji axis of the east-west road in Emohua, rivers state, according to a witness.
Five of the corps members reportedly escaped the abduction and were notified at the Rumuji divisional police station.
At the time of writing, the number of people kidnapped by the abductor could not be determined.
In the meantime, the state commissioner of police okon effiong has deployed a police tactical squad to track down the gunmen who abducted the Nysc members at Rumuji.
