Rivers State Governor, Nyelsom Wike has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of severe consequences should they fail to yield to them before closing negotiating an offer.
Gov. Wike informed the party, saying they can still reach a concluding end with them should they be ready to accede to their demand of removing the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Ayu.
In his statement, Gov. Wike disclosed that, should the G-5 make their decision soon, nothing will change their mind again.
“The point I am trying to tell you is that PDP should have their opportunity because there will come a time the door will be shut and nothing will happen. If that day comes, if heaven wants to come down, let it come down.
“Nobody should threaten anyone. If we (G5) take the decision today that we will not support the PDP candidate, we will give reasons why we will not support him and nothing anybody will do about it. They should better be careful,” Gov. Wike said.
The G-5 continue to battle the rotation system in the party, saying the majority of the Party’s top position shouldn’t rest on the shoulder of the northerners alone.
Gov. Wike stressed that should Ayu resign as the National Chairman, and rotate it to the South, then they’re willing to work with the party candidate but if not, they should be awaiting the harshest decision from them.
